Welcome to the first weekend of the holidays. I have sent home a brief notice about the kids connecting to the internet and especially their blogs. However we still need to take care of the kids use of the internet to protect them. I have posted a video that has a few tips (click on the title above)that will help keep the kids safe while surfing. I will monitor the kids blogs to ensure that there is good wholesome postings.
During the holiday period try to encourage the children to write stories on their blog. It can either be a retell of an experience or an imaginary story, it's quite ok.

One of the ICT skills we are learning in Room L is how to touch type. We have downloaded a typing programme from the internet to use on the class computers. I encourage the children to practise this skill at home during their time as this will speed up their publishing time on the computer and I believe benefit them in their future.

Everyday we have homework. The expectation for the children in Room L is that they will have a browser book to read everyday. If they choose to read a chapter book from home that is fine as well. Having parents or a caregiver read to your children is also encouraged.
